Elevation is 4784 ft and it is the highest natural point in Georgia. It is a great place to watch the sunrise.

When considering items for a picnic I like to have variety. I suggest picking up some deli items like good cheese, hard salami or prosciutto to go with some fresh bread. Add in some olives, artichokes, sun dried tomatoes. Have some fresh fruit or dried fruits and some chips on the side. And don’t forget something sweet – cider donuts, fried pies, cookies. Then you will pair it with some wine or hard cider. Check out Crossroads Grocery in Ellijay or the quaint grocery store Betty’s for some picnic items.
You can also pick up readymade sandwiches, or fried chicken and salads, some smoked salmon or barbeque from a restaurant or a grocery store.
Some good spots for a picnic are Warwoman Dell, which was named the “Best picnic spot in Georgia” by Southern Living Magazine. The Stovall Mill Covered Bridge, which is near a General store where you can purchase a picnic lunch. Unicoi State Park and Anna Ruby Falls have picnic tables.
